It’s been a big year for photos for me. First my wedding, then my pregnancy and now, little Ida and portraits of our new family. And while I love having pictures on my iphone and computer to share, I think it’s nice to have framed photos around the house, too. But (especially with wedding photos and family portraits) framed photos can tend toward the cheesy if not done right.
Enter Plywerk

I first came across Plywerk when I was looking to get pictures printed and framed from my Istanbul trip. I thought that Plywerk could be a great solution. I love that they are made from bamboo, in Portland–and that they aren’t made with glass (because I always seem to break glass in frames.) When the Istanbul Plywerks arrived I was smitten. I next got some made from my maternity photos for a little gallery wall in Ida’s room. So naturally, when it was time to print our family portrait, I thought of Plywerk. The timing could not have better because they just launched their new beveled frames, which I knew would be perfect with our ‘screaming’ family portrait.

Our portrait now hangs in our entryway and makes people smile as they enter and exit our home. It’s very ‘us’. And now, you’ll have a chance to have one that’s very ‘you’ because to celebrate the launch of the new beveled model, Plywerk is offering one JB reader a custom printed 8×12 Plywerk with a 3/4″ bamboo beveled edge, just like mine.

Here’s what to do to win.
1. Be a follower of the blog (scroll to the bottom of the page to join)
2. Check out the Plywerk site
3. Come back here and leave a comment telling me what image you’d put in your Plywerk. Make sure you leave your name in the comment.
4. That’s it! For extra entries, tweet, pin or share on facebook and leave the URLs in the comment section below. You may leave up to 4 comments.

A winner will be chosen at random on Nov. 6th at 5PM PST.
Good luck!

I want to have photos of my boyfriend’s grandmother printed in a Plywerk. She was a fire cracker back in the day. Time has not been kind to her, and she’s forgotten all of the righteous waves she used to make. I want to remind her of her spunk and assure her that none of us will ever forget it.

Love the new beveled frames! I’d Plywerk my favorite wedding photo. I never got around to even making an album of the big day. Our anniversary is coming up, and this would be a great traditional “wood” gift for my best friend and husband of five years.

  25. itsbreezy says:

Love these! I have a bunch of really lovely wedding photos, but I love your idea of taking out the cheese factor. We have this one wedding picture in particular though, that was not posed and is completely silly. We are looking at each other with these crazy grins and I think it would look lovely up on my walls :)

  26. Jessica LS says:

My baby boy is turning one in a few weeks, I’d love to put a newborn shot of him up on the wall to remember those sweet early days. Love Plywerk!

  27. YoshiSkoshi says:

I love any and all things bamboo and the fact that there is no glass is a big plus for me because glass never lasts long in my house of boys and dogs! I have tons of photos on my computer that need to be on display and this is perfect. Thanks for the tip T!
