Ida, six months

ida-sky-2

My little Boomba turned six months old yesterday–which was a HUGE milestone for us–especially because it meant that I met my personal goal of exclusively breast-feeding for at least the first six months of Ida’s life. I must say that I am really proud of myself for making it and it was NOT easy. Remember how skinny she was when she was a newborn? And that first month when she kept getting skinnier and skinnier was really hard–but she’s actually getting really chubby now and it’s so satisfying.

She’s like a real person–she laughs (hysterically even) she eats stuff

(so far, avocado and yams are her faves) and makes ‘mmmmmmmm’ noises when things are delish.  She points and squeals at the kitty, she sings and loves bath time–she’s got a really chill vibe and, in case you can’t tell-her father and I are crazy in love with her.

These six months have certainly flown by, and the lack of sleep, the physical bananas-ness, the turn-your-life-upsidedownedness of it all is certainly no joke–but amazingly enough I am feeling more energized than ever, so happy to be a mom, and so super duper lucky to be Ida’s mom, specifically.

    Hi Justina,

your little girl looks so lovely and happy :) I have a little boy nearly 5 months and like you love having plants and beautiful fabrics around the house… I was wondering how you are working out baby proofing your place? I know certain sacrifices need to be made in the home decor department will a little one around but am hoping not to have to resort to plastic “baby” stuff everywhere, ever though of doing a post about adapting the Jungelow for Ida? Would love to hear/see your ideas…

Thanks! and happy half birthday little Ida

    Sarah

    Hi Justina,
You are so pretty mum and I have to admit that you’ve chosen the best name for your sweet baby!
    Best regards from Italy.

I can’t believe it’s been 6 months already. And yes I saw your vine post of Miss Ida laughing, it made me laugh. It’s nothing like the laughter of a baby!

She is so cute! I can’t wait for Wiley weekend to get my hands on her.
