I’m not gonna lie. Things have been pre-tty hectic lately–and when that’s the case comfort is key. Comfort for me means pants I can breath in, slip-on flats, a shirt that allows me to breastfeed without getting completely naked, and jewelry that I can wear while holding Ida. Being comfortable also means feeling cute–I need outfits that I can run around in, meet clients in, sit on the floor and play with a baby that’s learning to crawl (she rolled over both ways for the first time last week!) and outfits that actually help my day along, not hinder it. (after all, I’m a business hippie.)
I love my little leather pouch necklace. I keep petty cash and my vitamins in it. Makes for easy access and Ida likes to play with it while I’m holding her. She grabs each little stringy fringe and examines it. I also love layering necklaces and at the moment I’m really into my MishaKaudi necklace made from record beads. It adds the right amount of POP without being too clunky–and dresses up my outfit so noone mistakes my day-time clothes for jammies . I’m also really loving my new rainbow moccasins. Looking down at my feet brings a smile to my face when I’ve got them on. And these pants–oh these pants. When I read the reviews and one person wrote “they run HUGE” I was like “YESSSS!” and I must confess, I bought them in every color. The elastic waist, the pattern on pattern, the airy-ness?!? I feel like they were made for me (and I really need pants right now that fit). This outfit (or a variation on this theme) is my uniform right now–what’s yours?
