My favorite kinds of projects to work on these days are the kinds that bridge the on and offline worlds. That is why I jumped at the chance when CB2 asked if I wanted to take part in “APT CB2” an experiment where an apartment in NYC would be designed on Pinterest and then built in real time based on what we all ‘like’ most. Such a cool concept and I love the spontaneity of it–plus I find these types of collective design projects super inspiring. And wait, there’s more…there are 5 rooms and 5 designers, and I got THE ROOFTOP!! How dope is that!?! It’s pretty much my dream to be able to design a rooftop in New York City, and now I get to do it together with all of you. I mean…the whole situation is pretty dreamy. Here’s a little trailer that explains what we’re doing a bit better:
You can already join in on the inspiration pinning fun on my APT CB2 board. As you can see, my vision for the rooftop is a kind of urban oasis, with lots of color (duh) and a little flair I’m gonna go ahead and call boho-pop. Then this Sunday, 5/11, I’ll actually be on that roof all day designing and decorating the space together with all of you. And in case this is all not rad enough already, you’ll also have a chance to win a dream room worth $5000. I know. Check APT CB2 for details and to see all the other rooms, designers and design ideas. Woot woot!

Wow! How cool is it that! Designing a functional rooftop must have been very thrilling. The view of the city must have been fantastic. I bet the owners loved your design as the photos of your own home are beautiful.
