So today is Earth Day. Its seems pretty crazy to have one day to celebrate the Earth, and it seems totally cliche to say that “everyday is earth day”– but I really do feel that way. Personally, I have been working hard to clean up my act– some of the lifestyle changes that I have made in the past year are to:
-Shop Farmers markets instead of grocery stores
-Keep tote bags at my door and in my car to avoid using plastic
-Use services like greenerprinter.com in my work and writing to companies I love like overnightprints.com asking them to incorporate recycled papers and soy inks into their inventory (and it seems the phone calls and letters are having an impact because check out this blog post!)
-Starting a garden in my allyway to get LA greener, learn to have a better appreciation for food, and to learn more about plants to evetually be able to “live off the land” (may be a far-reaching goal, but it’s there)
-Trying to get clients to incorporate more recycled materials and/or organic options when possible.
-Walking and bicycling more, driving less.
-Shopping at second-hand stores
-Putting water filters directly on the kitchen sinks and on the showers
This is all by no means enough. I still have green stars in my eyes, planning this year to:
-go from being a pescatarian to a full on vegetarian
-eliminate plastics from my refrigerator all together
-Spend more time outdoors, planting, playing and praying that we can all get it together to save the earth– for real.
Happy Earth Day!
What are your green goals?

I’m so excited to put some of this into action! I’m already vegan so you’d think I’d be waaaaay better, but I’m growing. Congrats on the Pesca-to full on veg decision. You’ll love it! I’m def going to shop farmer’s markets now it makes more sense. Also planning to utilize the rarity that is a backyard in Brooklyn and start a garden…albeit container at first but still. (: Love your blog bookmarking NOW. I write a beauty blog and am in the process of turning it all greeeeeeeen so thrilled. I’ll be by more often.
