So, my Offish is finally coming together! In case you can’t tell by these objects, or the silly name I gave it– The studio has a sea theme. Since I’m so jungle-y at home, I thought a sea breeze at the office would be nice. I have found some steals– and made some splurges– but it’s coming together nicely!
I found the hanging chair over the weekend on Craigslist for a staggering $65. I was breathless when I saw it especially since it so similar to the Jonathan Adler chair that I swooned over in this post, a few months ago.
The terrarium I got on sale at Anthropologie. It was still $100, so for me, a real splurge, but I had a crush on it ever since I saw it on this post over at Oh Joy!.
I scored 22 yards of this 1960’s fabric at the Rose Bowl flea market for 80 bucks. I’m still giddy, and it was like three weeks ago. I am making sheer curtains for the large windows out of it. (Pics soon, promise!)–and yes, it was this fabric that really spawned the whole Offish idea.
Next, the vintage teachers desk that was, yes ALREADY painted like that– I got from Craiglist for $260.
And lastly, my true huge splurge of the decade was my Steelcase Amia chair- $599– but I’m sitting in it now, and with my bad posture– it was worth every penny.
What are the kinds of things that you splurge on?
