Homies and Homettes of the world I am finally entering the Blogosphere. WOW, I never thought I’d see this day. I think I need a drink, un pastisse s’il vous plait, wait, no 2, one for you too!
This summer, while on my yearly treasure hunt in Europe, I had the intoxicating pleasure of spending a week in Paris for the Haute Couture shows. On one of my days off, I was introduced (by my wonderful friend and fashion photographer Kira, pictured here) to a most magical of hidden places, so aptly named “Derriere“, (which, for all of you monolinguists out there means; behind, rear, bottom . . . you get the point :). It is one of those little places you’d never find on your own and that once you do, you’ll never want to leave.
The first floor is a charming restaurant with a wonderful courtyard. Then, you slip up the stairs to find a grand old Parisian apartment, furnished with an eclectic mix of mid-century modern, antique chandeliers . . . all arranged to make you feel as though you have just fallen down a rabbit hole and into a secret world.
Food, drink ambiance up the wazoo are served up in old velvet sofas or while lounging on beds. The armoire pictured opens to a secret room, where fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton have their after show bash. Oooolala . . . . Paris!
