I found this book, Bright Ideas for your Home; Step by Step photographs and instructions to make stylish, practical furniture and accessories ( By Per Dalsgaard and Elisabth Erichsen, Harper & Row Publishers, 1978) while thrifting last month. I had never seen a DIY book quite like it. In part because of the 70’s vibe, but also the projects are so friggen cool– really well explained and, well, super bright! It’s amazing to me how so many of the projects look really current even though the book is over 30 years old. I mean, how rad is that striped door, huh?
On another note, I am SO excited about the amount (and quality) of the entries for the Style.Play.Work.Shop. You all really outdid yourselves this time around. Bekka and I will be passing the images over to judges now so they can pick the winner. I’ll keep you in the loop! Promise. Hope you all have a great day, I’m getting ready to get all woolly on my end. ;-)

I think the projects still look so current because our taste today has gone so retro-style!

I inherited this book from my Mom who bought it new in 78! I loved going through it and dreaming about which projects I might complete some day. I never have, but I still have that book!
