Morris Louis is a new-to-me abstract expressionist painter from Washington DC. He made ‘color field’ paintings during the 1950’s and, well, I just can’t get enough. This painting pictured above, is one of my favorites and I couldn’t help to think that it would look amazing on a couch, a shoe, a T shirt or an ottoman, so I created these images to get a sense of what his painting might look like if printed. There is something about his work, that seems very accessible and gives you the ‘I could paint that’ feeling, but there is something also very magical about them, and his use of color, in my opinion, is extraordinary. What do you think?
P.S. Don’t forget to check out the giveaway we have going on. It’s the last day to participate!
