One of the things that I miss most about working freelance is going to work at different coffee shops and cafes throughout the day. I miss the coffee shop atmosphere, the people-watching, the little nuggets of inspiration that you get from being “out in the world” and perhaps most of all I miss the coffee ;-)
This post is an ode to some of my current favorite cafes that I have been hitting up on the weekend with my man.
The first is new and holds a special place in my heart because the owners, Peter and Sofie are friends of mine, and I’ve known Peter since back in the day at Berkeley High School (go Yellow Jackets!). They have opened a little gem of a shop called Broom St. General Store (2912 Rowena Ave
Los Angeles, CA 90039) and the coffee is SO GOOD! You must go there to try all kinds of tasty treats and to shop for impeccably selected goodies and food-stuffs that they stock.
The next spot is Canele. I have on word for that place. YUM. Thank you Jessica and The Social Type for the recommendation.
Lastly is the classic– Intelligentsia. I don’t care if I have to wait in line if I get to stare at those floors while I do it. I love their coffee and I really love their tiles.
