Happy Friday, friends.
This post is titled ‘Back to mine’ because in one week I will be back to mine. I have put in notice at my current job. (Insert dramatic dun, dun dun… music here.) While I have enjoyed a lot of things about working on a larger team with other hyper-creative folks, (and the steady paycheck is nice, too) I want to go back to doing my own thing. It’s a struggle that I doubt will end completely (that of balancing my own creative adventures with helping out other people with theirs), but hopefully soon I will strike a balance between making money, and also feeling creatively fulfilled. The freelancers life has its own challenges too, but ultimately I kinda like working in my PJ’s.
More news soon as my unpredictable life gets even more unpredictable…
And thanks for all of your words of encouragement (in real life and on twitter) as I get through this bumpy transition…

Bravo to you for following your gut feelings, J. I, too, so wish that I could go freelance and not feel tied into a corporate world. One day, I hope. Big admiration from across the pond. xo

my father always says “if you keep hearing that little voice in your head – it’s your job to listen to it”. best of luck to you!!

Congrats Justina, for taking the leap – it’s not for everybody, but you need to follow your heart. I’m doing the same and while there are moments of fear, I love it. Fear can be good sometimes, it means you’re doing something beyond your comfort zone, and how else would we grow without doing that? :)
