I had the sheer pleasure of visiting a breathtaking home in the Hollywood Hills with my friend, Dabito. (Read/see more from this house on his blog Old Brand New.) The home + pool shots are all from this splendid home.
Seven simple ways to have a creative + meaningful week
Monday: Notice Eye Candy
Tune into what’s beautiful in the world. What catches your eye and makes you smile? Notice the little things and then try and discover why you love what you love. This will help you to recreate beauty in your work.
Tuesday: Make New Friends
Collaborating, sharing ideas, and even just hanging out with other creative folks is one of my greatest sources of inspiration. Positive vibes breed positive vibes so make lots of new friends that make you think and make you laugh. I am so lucky to have Dab as a new, dear friend.
Wednesday: Be Mellow
Life can be full of stresses, and stress sucks for mind, body, soul and for creativity. Choose to be mellow and treat yourself with kindness– remember to take breaks, to breath and to be mellow.
Thursday: Take Portraits
Taking portraits is a perfect way to work on lighting, angles, timing and framing and an ideal way to capture meaningful moments.
Friday: Have Infinite Dreams
Dreams are limitless, so allow yourself to dream sweet, dream huge and dream meaningful dreams.
Saturday: Be a Tourist
You don’t have to travel far to be a tourist. Explore diverse pockets of your city–bring your camera– be a tourist in your own town. Ask strangers for directions, try random restaurants without Yelping them first, buy a postcard and send it to a friend. Make time to explore.
Sunday: Occupy LA
Stand up for what you believe in. Be an activist everyday, and activate your creativity, your energy, and your empathy.
