I saw these stools at House of Honey in South Pasadena a couple of weeks back (what a lovely shop, BTW) and instantaneously decided that they would be the inspiration for my next Before and After project, so I found a little, ugly $10 stool while thrifting to use as a base. Next I took my $30 Flokati from Ikea and cut in in half to use as the upholstery (I use the other half of the Flokati on my desk chair). Then I grabbed by staple gun and got busy–15 minutes later I had a new 70’s style shaggy stool I’ve seen on 1st Dibs for $450. Boom!
Happy Thanksgiving friends. I have so much to be thankful for, this year and every year– my health, my man, my family and my friends, an amazingly rich creative life and a warm cozy home to live in–fresh organic produce, really fun clients, and a freedom to enjoy life that I know is rare in this world. I am truly blessed.
Thanks also to all of you for sharing this journey with me. Every day is a blessing, and you all are a huge part of that. Happy Thanksgiving. I am excited for my Tofurky and vegan stuffing. Seriously–my mom makes it soooo yummy.

what a GREAT idea. So simple but with so much impact. I love House of Honey. I grew up in So. Pas and only wish that she had brought her style to town earlier!
