Instead of calling our little one “it” until we find out the baby’s sex, Jason and I have taken to calling him/her ‘L’il Boomba.’ And as my belly grows and grows, despite being busy with work and wedding plans, I can’t help but daydream about the ‘Baby Cove’– the room that was once my Lady Cove which–after the wedding–we will transform into the Baby Cove. I have not allowed myself to buy a single thing for L’il Boomba yet– and that has taken a great deal of restraint– let me tell you. (Although we have started to get a few hand-me-ups from friends who recently had little ones of their own (thanks Joy!)…But as my Little Boomba board starts to fill up on Pinterest–ideas fly around in my mommy mind of ways to surround our little Boomba with beauty, comfort and love as we begin to welcome the Boomba into this world.
And yes–even as my jeans fail to button around my expanding waistline–I’m still tripping out that we’re having a baby!
