As it gets warmer and warmer, I find myself looking for sweet treats to quench my thirst–a little mocktail that can satisfy my fancy-drink craving without feeding booze to the Boomba. I look to some of my international favorites–drinks that have delighted me in my travels–drinks that put the fire out when food gets HOT and drinks that give me the perfect afternoon pick-me-up.
Have I missed your favorite? What international liquid concoction tickles your fancy? I’d love to discover some new ones!
Horchata / Spain + Latin America
Vietnamese Iced Coffee / Vietnam
Virgin Mojito / Cuba
Mango Lassi / India + Pakistan
Thai Iced Tea / Thailand
Avocado Milkshake / California – Dabito has made this one for me and it’s outta this world!
Latte di Mandorle / Italy (click here for recipe)
Agua Fresca Sandia / Mexico

A half-written post on my grandmother’s thandai (an almond-based drink) recipe is sitting in my drafts folder. I really need to get back to posting. Love your picks here. Am partial to mango lassi, and the avocado shake sounds awesome.

Fresh squeezed sugarcane juice with fresh lime and ginger. Super refreshing on the hottest of days! We drink it all the time in Zanzibar.

When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox
and now each time a comment is added I get four e-mails with the same comment.
Is there any way you can remove people from that service?
Thank you!
