Being a new mom is seriously hard work. Everyone tells you to get as much sleep as you can before the baby comes. Everyone tells you how much having a baby will change your life forever. And while you believe them, there’s just no digesting it until you find yourself up at 4:30 AM with swollen boobs, a crying baby, a whining cat while you’re trying to remember what the 5th ‘S’ is in the ‘Five S’s’: (swaddle, suck, side position, shussshing and…!??!!!)
But in the morning, when the night is all over, and I’m wiping her tiny tushie, kissing her tiny toes, picking out which rediculously mini and adorable thing she is going to wear that day (or that hour :P), and she stares back at me with those big, milky eyes–I can’t help but feel enlivened. This is what it’s all about.

Yes. I’m on week 32 of my pregnancy, and I feel like I’m totally prepared for being pregnant, but that’s almost over and what about this whole rearing a kid thing? I’m excited to be immersed in the unknown even though it will be terrifying, too.
Your baby is beautiful, and it sounds like you’re working out your new mama rhythm! xo.

I always remember the last “s” as shake. No don’t shake your baby! But you are supposed to jiggle them… and the only think that comes to mind is shake… lol
