Lately, I’ve had urges to feed Ida food. I want to give her a little taste of chocolate ice cream, strawberry yogurt–just to see how she reacts. Even though I know that it’s an irrational thought, I can’t help but feel like she must be bored of breast milk. To satiate my urge to feed her food, I took her to my favorite nursery to smell the flowers and herbs. I held her up to the rosemary and the mint, to the lavender and the basil. I loved watching her eyes widen and her nose wrinkle as she experienced all of these new smells. It totally satisfied my craving to give her food–at least for now.
I came back to the jungalow after our expedition with a few new plant friends (of course). Some new fish-hook succulents and a staghorn fern. Instead of buying new pots I thought I’d use some thrifted receptacles that I had lying around. After I photographed them I felt inspired to play around with the images, and these are the results.

Such a lovely idea, Justina. I love that you are introducing her to all these exciting smells at such a young age!
