I’m finally getting around to framing some of our wedding photos to put around the house and I was smitten with this vintage frame I found–it’s wild–and way outside of the box. It takes some of the cheese factor out of framed wedding pictures, and kinda makes the photo look like art. Oh yes. Me likes.
I wonder why frames are almost always square? Like in architecture, I find amorphous and round shapes so compelling–but I find they are so often ignored in design and that so much of the time, the squares are the go-to shapes for design.
What do you think? Do you like to see round and amorphous shapes in architecture and design? Why do you think that straight lines are the norm, when straight lines are found so rarely in nature?
