Granola is just one of those things I can’t live without….The problem is I can never find one I love without all the sugar. The best part about making your own is that you can make it without all that added sugar, and even better, you get the exact combo of things you really like. This is just a basic template for a super yummy gluten and almost sugar free granola, but feel free to add or subtract whatever you like. This version is a bit spicy and super flavorful due to the addition of allspice! Eat this with milk, yogurt, sprinkle onto fruit or your favorite sunday, or have a handful as a healthy midnight snack.
What you will need:
Preheat oven to 300. In a large bowl mix all of your dry ingredients. Add a pinch of sea salt and a pinch of allspice (add more or less to your liking). I add very little agave because I don’t like it too sweet, but again add as much or as little as you like along with a teaspoon of vanilla, two teaspoons of olive oil, and a little less than a quarter cup of good apple juice. Mix everything together and spread out on a large baking sheet or two, making a thin layer. Place tray in oven and keep an eye on it. As soon as you see the first hint of a slight golden color, take the tray out and stir the granola, place it back in the oven and repeat this until the mixture is dry. Make sure not to over bake or brown the mixture too much. When it is done take it out of the oven and let it cool on the tray. When it is cool place in a air tight container and enjoy!

On the flip side, if you’re currently going through emotional distress and are seeking support or advice, feel free to share your thoughts here. Sometimes, just talking about it with others who understand it can make a significant difference.
