Remember a couple of years ago when Pinterest first came out and it was still illusive? Well, that’s when I hopped on the Pinterest train and I never looked back. As an early adopter of the platform I pinned like crazy, creating 50+ boards chalk-full of images that inspire. Now I have over 11,000 pinned images and over 1,200,000 followers.
Well, today I am going to introduce to you the next train I’ve hopped on. It’s called Luvocracy. It’s kind of like Pinterest in so far as I have boards with different collections of beautiful images that I ‘luv’ from around the web.
Like Pinterest, I have boards for plants and patterns, jewelry and jungalows, boombas and bohemians. The difference is, all of the items are for sale, and can be purchased right there on the site. It’s kind of like having me as your personal shopper–and as you can imagine, I’ve s-c-o-u-r-e-d the internets for the 250+ items that I have on my boards so far. I have found a ton of one-of-a-kind pieces, really rare items–and I even have a board for items that you can get ‘For a Song’ ($50 or less). All of the luved items are bags I’d rock, chairs I’ve put in clients homes, perfumes I wear, dresses that are on my wishlist. In short, everything is jungalicious and maximalist and all the things that I am!
As a member of the site, you can have your own shop (and get a l’il kickback for your great recommendations if something sells). You can ‘trust’ other ‘luvers’ and see what they are luving from around the web. You can discover ‘trusted’ stuff and maybe do some shopping yourself.
Like Pinterest, Luvocracy is starting out as an invite-only platform. The good news is–I can hook you up if you’d like to become an early adopter–maybe just snoop around, or become a trusted personal shopper yourself. Click here to request an invite. Who knows? Maybe two years from now you’ll have 1,200,000 people trusting your taste and luving your style!

This seems dangerous! I’m going to have to save my scanning of your Luvocracy boards until payday, because I know they’re going to be good!!

I clicked on a pin yesterday and REFUSED to join because I didn’t want to have that myspace to Bebo to FB feeling. Jumping from one platform to the next doing the same-ish thing. However, I’m glad you explained how it works. To actually FIND where things come from rather than using Google images to location something from someone’s tumblr (so frustrating!). Shall I join? Will I ask for the invite and make use of this properly?…Stay tuned. The point is that I’m so glad you ‘splained it. I was going to avoid it like the iphone (no offense to the apple-rs out there). THANKS!
