This is a new-to-me mid-century shelf I found on Etsy, that will soon reside on the refreshed gallery wall in the living room in the jungalow. I’ve been collecting things for the wall for the past two months and this was the last piece of the puzzle. I’m going for a more sculptural vibe with the gallery wall this time around. I have a lot of ideas for this sweet little shelf. Part of me wants to hang it on the wall and paint three colors on the wall behind it–each area of the shelf getting a different color. Another idea is to put wallpaper behind it, or fabric. I thought to paint the shelf itself, too. I can’t wait to see what this little guy looks like once he has become a home for tiny succulents and cacti. What do you think I should do with it–any ideas?

I am addicted to these shelves. I have three so far in my house and more in the garage. I have been fortunate enough to get them locally very inexpensive. I recently showed in a blog post http://www.fineartbymattos.blogspot.com/ Later today I will try to post all three of them on my blog.

Ok, now I have a photo of each of the ones in my house. You really can’t go wrong whatever you do with the shelf, they are great. My suggestion would be to get it on the wall as is and then as you begin filling in pieces, inspiration may hit and you will know exactly how to enhance it. http://www.fineartbymattos.blogspot.com/
