Victoria Vu is a very, very thoughtful, smart and ingenious person. She has watched over the jungalow and our cat, Luda on several occasions when we were out of town. I will never forget that she fashioned a mote for Luda’s cat food one hot summer so that the ants wouldn’t get to it. So smart. She is also delicate and soothing to be around, but has an edge to her too, one that can stop you in your tracks and make you think about things in a whole new way. Her design and illustration work is also thoughtful, smart and ingenious: exhibit A.
Victoria also loves flowers. So I thought that this photograph that I snapped today was the perfect thing to pair with her delicate quote. Here’s what Victoria has to say:
This phrase, so simple and comforting, is handwritten on an index card that my boyfriend keeps taped up above his desk. While it gently pushes me to take one step at a time, to grow towards my goal by creating consistently, I love that it also reminds me to pause and appreciate the details – of moments, people, my surroundings – that enrich everyday living.

Aw! so thoughtful… it is really true that once in a while, we have to pause, enjoy and appreciate little things that happen while we pursue our goals … being appreciative isn’t hard yet it gives us delightful joy… ^_^
I love all of your “Like She Said” posts, but this one is by FAR my favorite. The flower, the colors, the words, everything! It’s a great reminder to notice the little things in life, but I also like it as a reminder to take baby steps to make any task less daunting and do little things for the people I love.
