It’s funny how when I shop nowadays, I’m not usually looking for anything in particular to purchase. I have more thingsthan most people in the world, I’m sure. So when I shop now I’m mostly shopping for ideas: things that I can share with you all here on the blog, a product that inspires my one-day product line, a piece of art that sparks an idea for a client…Because of this, often times, taking pictures of these inspiring things is enough, but every now and again (when the price is right and the product is just-so) things come home with me, too. Today I found these to yum-yums while thrifting in the Copenhagen neighborhood of Nørrebro. The vintage painting and the (embroidered? hand-stitched? Any needle-nuts know what kind of stitching this is?) hanging bag both got my mind racing when I looked at them and filled this crazy brain of mine with ideas. Like, wouldn’t that art-piece make a gorgeous T-shirt print? And this hanging bag…how amazing would it be as a plant-holder? This is how my crazy mind works.
When you shop, do you shop for ideas?
I do the same thing, shop for ideas, and of course if I love it and the price is right it comes home with me, but the bag just looks like regular needlepoint
Ya..I wasn’t sure…cross stitched or regular needle point–but I knew if I got it wrong someone would call me out on it. ha!
I looooove that bag! As a plant holder? That’s awesome! I would’ve never thought of that. : ) You’re right though, I’m always shopping for ideas to share with people too. It’s funny how I’ll look at something totally random and be like “Yep! Tiny clocks! That’s what I’m going to research!” and wam! I have something to talk about. : ) A blogger’s mind… lol. : D
Love the bags! I’m not sure but they may have been clothespin holders in their former life. btw love your blog :) R.
Needlepoint!
