Wandering through the streets of Copenhagen, there are (obviously) a TON of great shops to browse–but Beau Marche caught my eye because of the mix of new and old things–where as most of the shops I’ve seen so far are filled with just new stuff. The floor, the cluster of colorful mid-century tables, and that crazy cool ceiling lamp got me right away.
And then I saw this painting…“Colonial troop”…
And fell in love.
I asked the very sweet sales woman if she could give me more information about the artist–and very nonchalantly said “It’s me. I am the artist!”
Josephine Bourghardt. WOW. I was COMPLETELY blown away. If something radical happens and I get some amazing sponsor or something in the next few weeks–I’m coming home with this painting. How amazing would this rhino look in the jungalow??
Some other lovely, eclectic pieces from Beau Marche. Damn this city is cool.

That big shelf is confusing me! How is it mounted to the wall?!
Justina Blakeney says
uh…good question. I noticed how cool it was without noticing how confusing it was ;)

Haha! I came across this article that talks about the huge/long Saturday flee-/vintage market at Nørrebro! If you have any Danes around you I’m sure they can translate for you (it’s in Norwegian) :-) http://touch.vg.no/article.php?artid=10108711 Looks amazing!!

Love that space! That coffee table? Wow! And, of course, the elephant painting!! So cool that you got to meet the artist. Go back in and keep charming her with your personality… Maybe she’ll give you a discount! :-D ha! I do hope you get it, cause, you’re right, it would look awesome in the Jungalow!
