I’ve been fighting off a cold ever since I got back from Copenhagen. Now the cold has wandered into my chest and I feel seriously so-so…
A few days ago, I went to take a shower and noticed a little turd in there that did not belong to our cat–which means we have some kinda critter lurking in the house.
Yesterday, thanks to instagram, I realized a bunch a friends of mine were getting together for a party–and I wasn’t invited.
…and I had a terrible migraine and put Ida down for a nap in our big king-sized bed without barricading her with pillows…
And an hour later we heard a thud and screaming and she had fallen off. It was terrifying. Thank god she’s OK.
As all of this was happening, we had these huge, blooming peonies looking so happy, vibrant and gorgeous surrounding us. Which led me to think that…
Thank you for filling my weekend with these Peonies, Flowermuse, I really needed them!

The not being invited happened to me last weekend, too. Must buy flowers today :)

and I just came back with a bunch of dark red peonies for myself. same reasons around. sending lots of blooming over the big pond and a little smile, as flowers are a good start means, it will be better soon.

Aw. I don’t know why, but of all these icky things, the being left out of the party really makes me sad… flowers are a GREAT pick me up. I hope your day is filled with them!!
Hope you feel better soon xo

It’s hard staying on top of everything as a Mom. Social life, household, biz, having a baby changes the dynamic for sure. Things will look up, sounds like a little post travel reality let down :). Kick that sniffle in the booty and have an uber exclusive party of your own. I bet Ida is a great dancer! Feel better, as you’ve said before, these are the good old days. I bet most of your readers wish they could have you for a guest at their parties, if only it wasn’t for all the miles in between.

Thank you so much for this post. You are so incredibly easy to relate to and that’s what got me hooked on your blog in the first place. We have all experienced many of these things. It was wonderful meeting you and your adorable family over the weekend.

I’m so sorry to hear about how terrible the last few days have been…
I wish my husband understood the importance of flowers around the house! Like you say, they can at least begin to make you smile… if even for a second.
xx

Whoever wouldn’t invite you to their party doesn’t deserve you as a guest :)

Our son did that twice when he was littler. One of the times he WAS barricaded in but rolled his bum right over it.
Worried me more than words can explain… but he is just fine, thank the gods. :)
