You may remember my recent post on hangingfruit baskets–and in a rare bout of being inspired by my own inspiration post to make something (haha!) I found this beautiful, old wooden tray on a thrifting mission and thought that it would make the perfect hanging fruit tray–so this morning with a bit of rope, wire and a small pieces of fabric (to cover the wire) I rigged it into a hanging tray–and it was so simple and looks so pretty I had to share! If you are ever inspired by any of my posts to make something and actually make it, I’d love for you to share! You can email snaps to hello (at) justinablakeney (dot) com. Have a lovely day, friends!

This is genius! I have a tiny apartment and limited counter space so I need to try something like this.

Loved your first post on these. Although, they seem like they would be difficult to get/stay level, especially the large, really flat trays/baskets. Did you have that issue with yours?

that’s a good question–actually mine stayed level without problems–I fixed the rope to the tray with just a bit of rubber cement glue on the bottom, and I make sure that the ropes were the same size…and it worked really well.
