I love meeting new, creative people in Los Angeles, and last week when I met up with Staci and she told me about Badia Design in North Hollywood, I made a b-line straight to it after our tea. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place. It’s a huge warehouse PACKED with all of the Moroccan arts, crafts, furniture and design objects that I love– Berber Pillows and rugs, rag rugs, poufs, hand-painted tables, lanterns and teacups, tiles and Handira wedding blankets.
I’m telling you, I thought I was in Marrakech! The warehouse goes on and on and on and on and around every corner there is something seriously spectacular. The prices are fair–and though they’re not giving anything away–it’s a helluva lot cheaper than flying to Morocco (or paying for international shipping). Mohammad, who was helping me locate all of the items I was looking for, was super helpful and patient. I wish I’d have known about them during my wedding–I would have rented seating and lanterns and rugs from here (because they also do rentals). If you’re in L.A. it is certainly worth a visit to NoHo’s Badia Design.

Reminds me of Malaga area in Spain, where you’ll find a nice mix of Berber and Mediterranean..
