I have been a fan of San Francisco-based artist An Astrid Endeavor for a while. Her geometric-shaped embroidered ornaments and jewelry are colorful, modern and different from anything I’ve seen before. She’s got her own style, that, like a really good singer, is totally recognizable even without knowing that she is the artist behind the work. I was scrolling through her shop one day when I thought to myself that her jewelry is so beautiful, that it would make amazing textile-wall-art. So I DM’ed her on Twitter to see if she had ever considered translating her jewelery into items for the home.
She responded that she had thought about it, and we had a little bit of back and forth until, a little while later, this gem landed on my doorstep. Almost like a dream-catcher, this textile jewel is like my new favorite thing. While deciding where to put in in my home I moved it from room to room to room and it looked awesome everywhere–I had the hardest time deciding where to hang this beauty.
It finally landed in my bedroom on my turquoise wall, with my other jewels and gems–fitting, yes? Check out Astrid’s other textile jewels here— and custom order a gem for your wall right here. Thank you Astrid!

super pretty, Justina! I could think of a million places that jewel would look good. Makes me want to put some more color on the white walls of my office at work.
