I’m totally dating myself here, buuuut… I bought my very first digital camera in college because I had, among other things, a really expensive (and really ugly) Michael Kors jacket I wanted to take pictures of to sell on eBay. When I moved to Italy a few years later and opened up a brick and mortar boutique, I kept busy on slow days at the shop scouring eBay for the best stuff to buy and resell.
Suffice it to say that in the last fifteen years I’ve become an expert at unearthing hard-to-find items because eBay, much like all the biggest and best markets, can be a touch overwhelming. There is SO MUCH to sift through, it seriously feels never-ending–which is why it’s so great that now I can curate my own eBay Collections. I have a Jungalow Collection (how amazing is this print, btw?!). I also have Collections for Bling and one for for Boho Glam. Some of the items are inspirational, some aspirational–but they all come together to kind of tell a story about where I’m at stylistically, which is really cool to see.
The two Collections I’m having the most fun with at the moment are my Art Attack Collection, and my Patternful Collection.
My Art Attack Collection is all about eclectic art with history and soul. There are some great original paintings and affordable prints in there–the kinda stuff I’d buy for clients (but hold onto for just a few months to admire in the Jungalow first..he he.)
As for my Patternful Collection, I love to buy textiles online because they are relatively light-weight to ship and for whatever reason I always find better deals online than I do at thrift-shops or markets. My Patternful Collection is like this crazy burst of patterned treasures: Suzani, Otomi, Kantha, Ikat, Shibori—all my favorites are having a serious dance party in there.
To keep up with my latest finds, you can now follow me on eBay–and if you’re on eBay, leave me a comment here with a link to your profile and I’ll check out your collections–because seriously, the more people to help sniff out the good stuff, the better.
*My eBay Collections were curated as part of my collaboration with eBay and Style Coalition. #FollowItFindIt
Oh my….collections on ebay too?! This sounds dangerous. I’m off to check this out, and find more colorful, patternful, fabulous ways to spend my life on the internet ;-)
