An occupational hazard of shopping a lot for work is that I end up buying A LOT of stuff. Beautiful stuff that I have absolutely no use for and certainly no space for. And it’s gotten pretty bad, so I decided it would be fun to have a sale–but this time, I didn’t want it to just be an online sale or a garage sale–because a lot of this stuff is really tactile–and I feel like it’s important to see it IRL and run your fingers over it to really get it. Some of the stuff is also a little bit higher-end–so a garage sale setting wasn’t quite right either. So I contacted my friends over at Platform (remember when I did this Storefront post about them?) to see if they’d be interested in hosting the sale (#boldmoves) and…whatdyaknow? They were! (yay!) And guess what!? The opening date has crept up on me and it’s THIS WEEKEND!
Here’s my little spiel about the sale: A little bit of whimsy and a whole lotta color, Justina Blakeney’s vintage treasures have been sourced from all over the world and are as eclectic as they are soulful. With a passion for textiles, plants, brass details and a handmade touch, this collection contains ceramics picked from the lapamarkts of Copenhagen, wallhangings discovered in the crowded thrift-shops of Palm desert, textiles from the dizzying bazaars of Istanbul and a few treasures from Mexican bodegas. In addition to her vintage collections, the Jungalow Planter–a limited edition brass and wood hanging planter designed by Justina and hand-crafted in Silverlake by MFEO will be available for purchase. I hope to see you there!
Here are the deats:
Opening:
October 12th
6:30-9:30 PM

Just want to let you know I like your blog design. Very creative. Especially how you frame your portrait which matches the whole colour scheme. I have featured it in my blog at “Ideas to customise your blog’s sidebar”, http://alittletypical.wordpress.com/2013/10/08/ideas-to-customise-your-blogs-sidebar/
