Picking a favorite rug from PAMPA is kind of like trying to decide which Game of Thrones character is your favorite–it’s like Khaleesi is so kickass–but then there’s that Jon Snow…I mean there is so much eye candy here that I could blog about these guys for a week and create a whole dang pinboard with these images alone. PAMPA is comprised of a couple (she is Argentine and he is Australian) both photographers–who, after years of exploring the world with their cameras launched PAMPA. They specialise in Hand-Woven Art Rugs woven in native communities from Argentina.
From Pampa:
Every rug is 100% handmade. They are produced with hand-spun sheep and llama wool on hand-looms in native rural communities in South America. The process can take up to six weeks, because each rug contains not only hard work and discipline, but also a very profound sense of reality.
We believe in a world of fair trade, that’s the way we work with our artists, so you know your rug is not only improving your home, but improving theirs as well. Sizes and shapes of rugs do vary due to the handmade process. No two rugs are identical, they all have an individual character given by the artists
I mean–this mood..so visually stunning…yes?
Their main retailer is in Sydney at Koskela and also have some pieces to Anna Spiro in Brisbane. You like?
Oh my, this is so heartwarming! It seems like the artisans they work with are from Jujuy province, in northern Argentina, where my 7 nieces and nephews were born. It’s a place I fell in love with 16 years ago, not only because of the breathtaking scenery, but also the warmth of the people and the culture. On a side note: the first name my parents chose for me was Pampa, but they weren’t allowed to register me with that name.
Ok, enough with the ramble! I just ♥ Pampa. Thanks for sharing J! Besos :)
