Yesterday Amanda (my trainer) gave me a bit of advice that resonated with me. She suggested that when I don’t feel like going to the gym or on a jog (or whatever) to just go for five minutes. Then once I get there, if I decide to stay longer and to push myself…all the better. When it comes to motivating, it’s those first steps are the most important–and often times the most difficult. And once those first steps are taken, it’s all about staying energized for the next steps.
Today, as part of my collaboration with UGG Australia I’m publicly declaring #TheNextStep in my life which is to ENERGIZE. I want to run all the way up those steps without feeling like I’m going to die :-| –I want to be bouyant and zesty, nimble and strong–and I’ll be sharing all the things that help me to stay energized right here.
To help us all take #TheNextStep and style our next big adventure, 25 winners will walk away with brand spankin’ new UGG footware so that we can all look good as we get one step closer to achieving our goals. (and guys, can you believe how cute these boots are?!? plus seriously comfy!) Go here to check out the complete fall collection. My jaw was on the floor.
Here’s what to do:

Love those boots and the contest…but what really struck me was the post. I know it all too well. I’m taking those steps too. In no time you’ll be running those stairs with no problems.

I feel the same way and I need to get energized. It’s so hard to do that as the weather gets colder on the east coast.

Great contest, Justina. Their new collection rocks! I personally KNOW how hard those steps are. I live near there and have done them many times. Much success to you in achieving your fitness goals! You look great!

What a great contest! I love UGG boots and it gets pretty freezing in Kunming in wintertime, I will be signing up and holding thumbs.
Those steps look steep, running up them will be a great fitness achievement!
I also have to keep motivating myself to go out for a run. I started in March using a couch to 5km podcast plan and it worked wonderfully – once I actually got off the couch and out the door ;)

It’s getting cold up here in MN and fuzzy warm, but stylish shoes are always a must.
Those steps are steep! But in no time you will be amazed that you thought you could never do it!

That’s a really great tip — the 5 min thing. Motivation is hard. Very hard. I feel like I can commit to 5 mins of just about anything though.
–And good for you kickin butt on the physical health front. You look awesome! Go you!
