This is something that my mom often tells me. I like to remind myself of this especially during this time of year when I tend to pile-it-on and am juggling a million projects. Sometimes it’s OK to just BE and not always DO, right?!
That’s exactly what I’m trying to remember when times get really hectic – like now. I have to nearly force myself to watch a film or read a magazine without thinking about work or trying to ‘do’ something work-related on the side. Switching off seems to become more and more difficult. I find the best time of the year to ‘just be’ is the week between Christmas and New Year – it’s as if time is standing still – bliss! :-)
Yip, it’s ok to just be.
This week, after an incredibly terrible last week, I left icy China and am spending 4 days next to the Mekong in Vientiane, just being, because I need it!
Hope you get to just be too this week :)
My husband is so stressed right now with 3 major projects closing in the next two weeks. He’s just ‘doing’; while I have some slack and am ‘just being’. But being out of kilter with him is awful. Stressy. I hope come Xmas we’ll be just being, with my son, on hols (heading to a castle in N Wales with no wifi, TV etc. I hope we can learn to just be happy with eachother. It’s too hard isn’t it to be not do all the time. Such wise words Justina. Glad you reminded us of just being.
