We met a few years ago on Twitter. I think I had stumbled upon his blog, loved it, saw that he was in L.A. and decided to say hi or something. Honestly I can’t really remember exactly how it all began, but I just know that from the first time I ever met him, I knew this guys was GOOD vibes–humble, open, ferociously talented, fun…
His photographs have always spoken to me at a visceral level. He doesn’t just capture ‘vignettes’ or ‘details’ –I think he is able to capture the soul of the home. We also just kind of ‘get’ each other and work at a similar pace and it makes working together fun and easy.
When I began to brainstorm for ideas for this book, it was always in my head that I wanted him to be the one to photograph it. And somehow, by way of miracles, or #boldmoves or good karma or something…he said yes when I asked him, and our publisher said yes too… And now, this book project that I was already super excited about, I am now officially tripping out over.
Working together with my favorite photographer means that this labor of love is gonna be something very, very special…
that my dear friend Dabito from Old Brand New will be the photographer I have the privilege of working with on my new book. (!!!!!)
<3 Now come home from NYC Dab. L.A. (and the people in it) miss you.
