Today I have an exciting announcement — a little something that has been in the pipelines for years, with my friend and partner-in-creative crime, Dabito. We have started The Creative Residency, it’s a serious series of creative seminars and lectures. The idea for The Creative Residency was born after years of supporting one another on creative projects and recognizing the value of working together with or even NEAR other hyper-creative individuals. The Creative Residency was built with the following principals in mind: Exchange powerful ideas, share helpful resources and build meaningful relationships.
It is our belief that these seminars will be total game changers — one leaves a seminar already armed with new tools, ideas and relationships that will take you, your brand and/or your blog to new heights. And we don’t leave you hanging after a seminar is over either. We have designed the programs so that we have follow-up sessions with all fellows to be sure that everyone is on track to meet goals.
The first seminar is being co-taught by Dabito and I and it is a Social Media Practicum — a ten-hour intensive seminar and is open to 14 fellows and will take place July 27th. To create an intimate group, space in the seminars is very limited and all fellows must apply for admittance. If you’re wondering why we decided to make people apply to get in, you can read all about it here.
We hope that eventually The Creative Residency seminars will be available in other cities around the world, but for right now seminars are held at Room Forty of the Fig House in Highland Park.
We already have an incredible group of faculty shaping up to teach more seminars this fall, and if there is something that you are expert at and are interested in becoming a faculty member, you can apply for that, too right here.
I am so passionate about teaching and discovering new ways to collaborate with other creatives that I couldn’t be more excited about this if I tried. I hope you’ll check out The Creative Residency and apply to be a fellow so we can get all creative together–as Matisse says “Creativity takes courage.”
