Working with smart, adventurous, stylish ladies is kinda my jam, so when Rena from Project Bly asked me if I would style her latest look-book that was to be photographed by the multi-talented Jessica Comingore, I was all over it.
I’ve loved the concept behind Project Bly ever since I first heard about it when they launched last year. It’s all about really experiencing the cities that they travel to. And trust me, after spending the day with Rena hearing her tales of adventure hiking up mountains, while ill, for more than eight hours in search of a special artisan–I knew that Project Bly was the real deal. Some of her stories were so hard-core, in fact, she got me rethinking the idea that she had a dream job. Ha!
The look-book that I had the pleasure of working on features Project Bly’s Hanoi Collection.
I won’t waste time by trying to explain all about the collection when Rena has done such a beautiful, in-depth job of it on the Project Bly site–but suffice it to say that the collection consists of many things that I love: intricately embroidered textiles, whimsical patterns, bright, happy colors. And, as with all of the Project Bly collections, 5% of sales goes to a charity that benefits the city and country from which it came. It’s kind of a win-win.
Actually it’s a win-win-win because Project Bly is also extending a discount to you! The code is JUSTINA20 and is valid for 20% off site wide. Expires on Friday, July 18, 2014–so move your buns.
I hope you have as much fun shopping the collection as I had putting it together!
