Being a business owner, blogger and working mama means I’ve gotta be a master multi-tasker. I lean on technology a lot at work and home and am always down to try something new that might make my days and nights run more smoothly. When I was approached by the kind folks at Barnes & Noble to try the Samsung Galaxy Tab® 4 NOOK® I was totally open to exploring this tablet and seeing how it might fit into my life. So we spent a day hanging out and getting to know one another…First stop, some avocado toast at Sqirl and checking out the many apps that come already loaded on the tablet.
Next we stopped at one of my favorite local flower shops, Twig and Twine, and while there, I got online to research a few things for rest of the day…It’s a welcome change from looking things up on my small phone. The size of the screen is refreshing and the colors on the screen are really crisp and vivid–which is obviously really important to me.
Since I’ve never had this kind of tablet before, I was curious about that digital reading function and I picked out a few magazines to flip through. And while I still have love for actual paper mags, I enjoyed the ease of accessing and reading from the NOOK and it’s definitely easier than schlepping around a purse full of heavy magazines. I could see myself using this a lot on weekends and on vacations to read e-books on too.
Then when we got back to the Jungalow HQ I put the flowers to work with a little #FaceTheFoliage action, tried out the camera function on the tablet which I was also impressed with.
I think one of the best things about the tablet is that it feels like at the special instant rebate price of $150 (regularly $199.99) there’s a lot of bang for your buck. It also streams movies and shows, and I could see using it in the kitchen for recipes instead of looking on my phone or bringing my laptop into the kitchen. I also could see myself using it with Ida, for educational games and reading kids books–especially when we’re not home or don’t have easy access to actual books–like if we’re on a plane or something. Obviously, at that price point I think it also makes a really nice and pretty fancy gift for someone who likes to read, who is often on the move and, like me is a busy bee. Now I’m wondering if my book will be made into an e-book too?! I should check my contract on that because it would be pretty rad to flip through it on the NOOK :D. For more of my adventures with the Nook, check the NOOK Instagram through the end of the year.

I just finished using my phone to look at a recipe while I baked, and would love to have something with a bigger screen for that task!
