After my studio reveal this week, I had a lot of folks ask about my ceramics collections. I’ve collected mine over the course of about a decade, but that doesn’t mean cute and quirky ceramic vessels are hard to find…I did a quick little round-up for you of how to get look of my little studio garden…
Where to you like to house your planties??
Have a lovely weekend friends!

Hi Justina! I just installed a mantel-esque shelf over my fiance’s GIGANTASAUROUS TV (it’s okay, I do love 30 Rock reruns), and these ceramics are exactly what I was looking for. My question, though, is if these have drainage holes, and if not, how do you keep your plants from rotting? Are they in smaller containers inside the ceramics? I’ve also heard of using charcoal or rocks at the bottom. Hope you can help! I’ve had too many plants die cause I suffocated them in a cute but impractical container, arg!

it’s a good question Nicole! I have found that it has everything to do with the kind of plants–succulents need VERY little water to thrive (though they do need lots of sun. I put fishtank rocks in the first inch or so of the vassel and then water mine only once per month and even then with only a small amount of water–enough to moisten the soil but not enough to pool at the base of the ceramic. I then gently pour out the access water to be sure it’s not collecting at the bottom. In between waterings I spray my succulents and cacti and this seems to keep them very happy. I also find that if they don’t have enough sunlight they wither away. Hope this helps!

Thank you for these links! I’m always on the lookout for awesome ceramics. I’ve also had a fair amount of luck at local second hand and thrift stores. :)

Love this idea of displaying ceramic collection, instead of simply storing them! :)
