In the course of working on The New Bohemians, I had the chance to meet some really awesomely creative and talented people. Emily Katz, whose home in Portland, OR (above) is featured in the Modern Bohemian chapter of the book, seems to always have a number of creative projects in the works. One of these projects is heading up Modern Macrame, where she offers workshops in the art of macrame, with a modern spin.
Emily is headed to California in May, and will be offering workshops in LA, Ojai, and San Diego, for both wall hangings and plant hangers!
The workshops include instruction, inspiration, and a DIY macrame kit. Students will leave with a finished project and a head full of inspiration. For the details, and to register, visit the Modern Macrame site. For those of you not in California- Emily offers an online class so you can get in on the fun!

I have always loved macrame but it really did seem to fall out of fashion. Recently I started seeing it pop back up again. Have you seen the incredible micro macrame jewelry people are making now? Fantastic stuff!
