My mom is amazing. She and my dad have five grandkids and they have all of them over multiple times a week, sometimes they even keep the kids overnight. The slumber parties at Bubbie and Popop’s are the best. Ida hangs out there every Tuesday with her cousins and comes back with new vocab words, lots of stories and silly anecdotes. I am so thrilled Ida’s is growing up with so much family around her and I love that she is so close with her grandparents.
This year for Mother’s Day I wanted to get my mom something special. She is always all about the kids and as a result, her home is all about the kids too. Their home-office doubles as a kid’s room. They’ve got toys and potty’s in every corner of the house. Their dining chairs had gotten really schmutzie because of all the climbing, spilling, and crumbs. My parents love to entertain and so when the kind folks at Candelabra reached out to see if I wanted to work with them on something, I decided that it would be the perfect opportunity to get them a new set of dining chairs. When my parents have friends and colleagues over I want them to chill and talk on nice, clean, beautiful adult chairs, so I found them some amazing ones…
Aren’t they purdy? I got them the DoveTail Masey Chairs because they are versatile and comfy, practical and timeless.
It was actually very difficult to decide what to get them because Candelabra has so much amazing stuff. Check out some of my favorite furniture pieces (that’s the Masey chair on the left):
I really want that cone lamp and that weird, amazing leather sofa. And Candelabra some seriously good smalls/ accessories too:
I mean these rugs?! What? they’re so good, aren’t they? Anyway, my mom and dad are thrilled with the new chairs. So thrilled, in fact, that they’re not even letting the kids eat on them which is seriously a first for them. They’re finally setting some boundaries. It’s a good thing.
I love you mom and dad!

First of all, that’s so great Ida has an amazing time with her grandparents, cousins, and all the family. That’s one of the very best things that can make childhood years so joyful, and rich, and memorable. Talking from experience here)) So, long live the family. and Happy Mother’s day!
PS chairs are cool, and so is newly designed interface(?) Candelabra site. I’m not sure they were different, but they seemed easier to browse today..

Those are pretty chairs. I have a question about whether your parents are satisfied with the change. I did a similar thing for my mom, with similar chairs. I later found that I made a mistake because they were a tiny bit taller so it made for circulation trouble from where it hit the thighs. Not much, just a little uncomfortable when sitting a long time like when we play board games. Also, the ones I picked out had no casters (similar to your before and after pics) so they did not move smoothly on carpet. I wonder if your parents chairs have a similar problem? They look amazing, but do they move well? I had to give my mother back her old and well used chairs because they were better designed for her to use at the table. good thing I was lazy about getting around to donating the old and still had them!
