NYC Book Party Recap!

Last month was quite a whirlwind. With the release of The New Bohemians I pressed a pause button on almost everything that I was working on to celebrate the release of the book. While I opted for doing a blog book tour instead of an in-person one, I did party it up in NYC and L.A.

For the occasion, Dabito, Danae and I restyled the entire Caylpso St. Barth store. (Catch up on the B&A’s here and here.) And then, in the evening, the vino came out, and so did a fun and good lookin’ chunk of NYC!

The NYC party was really special as I had a gang of girlfriends who took planes and trains to come out. That’s Josie all the way on the left. Her home is featured in the book in the Modern Bohemian chapter. And Sole and Sofia, who are on my right, are sisters and their parent’s, Pedro and Stella, are featured in the folksy bohemian chapter.

Can you tell I’m happy Dabito came with me?

It was really fun to see people hanging out in the different areas of the store we had just restyled, flipping through the book.

I also met some East Coast insta-buddies like the talented LaTonya Yvette ,

and Susan Brinson, whose work I’ve admired for years.

I was tripped out to see folks waiting in line to get their books signed!! Feeling fancy indeed.

Some handsome folks from the press came out too like Sean Santiago (on the right) from Refinery29.

I loved meeting a lot of designers who came out too, like Hana Getachew from Bole Raod Textiles.

And I got to hang out with the remarkably talented (and sweet!)  Monica Ramos for the first time. She illustrated the end-pages of the book.
