Creating vases that Pop with Chambord

I take a lot of pleasure in creating things just for the fun of creating them, so when my friends over at Refinery29 asked if I wanted to try my hand at a crafting project for Chambord, the French liqueur with the délicieux, orb-shaped bottle, I was all over it. After all, their slogan is “Because…No reason.” :P

So I decided to get my upcycle on and paint a bunch of glass bottles in contrasting shapes and sizes to use as vases with fun pops of color around the Jungalow.

Here’s what you’ll need:

1. A selection of glass bottles with fun and funky shapes
2. Dishsoap
3. Acrylic paint in various colors
4. Paint Brushes
5. Botanicals

Here’s what you do:

1. Find a bunch of glass bottles in contrasting shapes and sizes.
2. Soak them overnight in warm, soapy water to remove the labels and glue.
3. Clean off bottles and dry them.
4. Pick out your favorite acrylic paint colors.
5. Paint the bottles one coat and let dry
6. Paint a second coat and let dry.

7. For a third coat, try adding some simple embellishments. We added stripes and color-blocks to a few of our bottles but there are an infinite amount of ways to add a pop of pattern to your vases.

8. When styling the vases, pick botanicals with contrasting shapes and colors that also highlight the offbeat shapes of the bottles. Here we used succulents, oranges, lemons and billy balls to make things POP!
