LCDQ Event Recap

LCDQ stands for La Cienega Design Quarter and it’s the area of L.A. where they have all the shops and showrooms for designers and lovers of home decor. Every year they host an event called Legends where all the showrooms open up for parties, panels and discussions around design. I was lucky to be picked as an ambassador this year, along with a pretty rad group of designers/design bloggers: Amber Interiors, Sarah Sherman Samuel,  Dabito,  Holly Hollingsworth Phillips,  Will Taylor,  Marisa Marcantonio, Orlando Soria and Anthony D’Argenzio. I also spoke on a panel about design and social media and had a chance to hear from other designers and design entrepreneurs about how they do (and don’t!) use social media for their businesses. And yes, I’m wearing a set of GINORMOUS tassels as a necklace ;)

I had a chance to meet some designers I’ve been fan-girling off of for a minute like John Robshaw (above)…

And I tried (and failed) to do a face swap with Nate Berkus. Yes I was mortified. He is really very sweet and handsome IRL this photo totally doesn’t do him justice, but it’s all I’ve got, damn you snapchat and your totally unintuitive platform. haha.

Here I am cozying up to Will from Bright.Bazaar and the ridiculously sweet Sophie Donalson (the Editor in Chief at House Beautiful).  It’s fair to say everywhere I looked I was surrounded by folks that inspire and that I admire.

And now for some favorite showroom finds. All this kitchen needs are some plants.

LCDQ was really fun and inspiring. I’ll for sure go again next year. Maybe I’ll have a more successful go at a Nate Berkus face swap :P
