Whether vintage or new, traditional or modern, we love designs from Mexico. Mexican art and craft conjures up memories from our travels, but also relates back so deeply to our city: Los Angeles, whose history and culture is deeply connected to Mexico’s.
If you’ve never been to Mexico, you can still add a little bit of its magic through the vibrant textiles, carved wood, and intricately detailed pieces created by artisans all over the country. While traditional work is certainly not all there is to Mexican design–Mexico is home to modern architectural giants like Luis Barragán, and innovative design work there continues to shape the future of design everywhere–but we always save a special place in our hearts for traditional designs and the flavor that it adds to layered boho homes.
From the vibrance of Otomi textiles, to the earthy vibes of Equipale furniture, there’s so much to love about Mexican design. To shop our picks above, head over to our partner, Chairish. You’ll find all of our favorites right here.
