It’s been a minute since I’ve done a post update about our jungalow and that’s mostly because we haven’t done too much to it in the past few months. But even though we’ve haven’t knocked down any walls or installed any new tile, we’re finally settling in to our new home and really making those small tweaks, additions and edits to fit our routines. That having been said, I’m always sharing all of those little updates on Instagram and forgetting to post here so here goes…this is what our home looks like these days…
In the dining room and bedroom, we’ve kept things more or less the same but I’ve gotten a bit bolder about incorporating pieces from my textile collections into these rooms. When we first wallpapered I felt like I wanted to keep everything else kind of muted so as not to compete with the wallpaper — but over the past few months I’ve been experimenting with adding more pattern and (no big surprise here!) I love it! More color, pattern and plants please!!
I’ve been adding tiny details like this old handmade box I found on eBay. I love tattered and funky it is. 
We added this pendant lamp to our out door dining room and we ate out here a few times a week this summer. Eating on our patio is one of my favorite things about our new home. I had the cushions reupholstered in a suzani-style fabric that I found at Micheal Levine in DTLA.
We haven’t updated the bathroom much (besides the amazing towels I got from Erica Reitman) and we STILL haven’t decided whether or not to add a glass door to the shower. When I shower in here the water does splash outside the shower and get a bit on the bathroom floor. It’s not terrible, but it’s not awesome either. We love the look of the open shower (no door) so much(and those shower doors are very pricey) so for now we’re making do without it. We’ll see if we get fed up with the post-shower puddle or if we keep it as-is.
It’s been a while since we had these custom shelves built for our ‘cabinet’ in the kitchen. It was built for us by our neighbors Treeline Woodworks and I’m obsessed with the un-evenness of the shelves. We’re thinking to do something similar in the living room for books and Tchotchkies. 
Speaking of the living room, I’m not sure if I ever mentioned that we painted the breakfast bar! We went with (wait for it…) Breakfast Room Green by Farrow and Ball. It provides a nice segue into the greens of the kitchen. 
Our kitchen is pretty much the same–and I’ve been having lots of fun concocting stuff in here lately. I’ve been killing it on the coconut curry front!
Our T.V. room / guest room is also basically unchanged — but I am trying to think of a solution for the window treatments in this room because most times of day this room is really dark and I love the way the drapes look open, but it doesn’t leave us with enough privacy since this room faces the street. I’m thinking of maybe getting some bigger trees to plant outside the windows — but worried about blocking too much natural light — any thoughts?
And now we’ve added our new Mor chair that we designed for Jonathan Louis to our living room. We’re launching the entire collection at Highpoint Market this week (in fact I’m in North Carolina as I type…) and it will be available for purchase some time in January. Yippee! So those are all of our house updates! It´s looking amazing! I would totally support the idea of the glass door in the bathroom, it will simplify your everyday chores so much. And about the drapes on the TV room, have you thought about getting a double rod? In Chile we typically use it that way, installing drapes and veils, that way you can have them open all day and receive as much light as posible, without sacrificing your privacy.
I love posts of your home the most. Is there ANY chance you’d post an angle of “Bluhemia” that shows the side of the room with the TV??? I live together with my boyfriend (And his big TV!) in a studio apartment… it feels like a conspiracy amongst all my fav designers to not share the way they style their TVs at home – haha! i’m a fan of no shower door / granted in part because we don’t have room for a door and if we put up a curtain it would be too dark to see what we’re cleaning!
free standing lattice panels like a screen in front of the windows (outside) with some cool vines like passionflower on them. my living room windows also face the street and we did this. just enough screening from outside eyes but lets light in.

Love the Mor chair- you’re the best chair designer!!! Loving everything I’m seeing here and on Instagram (that hanging chair- in love!). Would love to see that Mor chair in some kind of animal print- leopard is my go to (just so you know for the future, if you’re going to add any new patterns- hee hee!). Also, will you be doing any loveseats, settees, and/or couches? Everything’s as gorgeous and unique as always!
Hi justina, for your tv room curtain solution, why not make wood room dividetors that are on wheels so you can move them or overlap them. You could easy make them with just a jig-saw with cheap wood then paint them any color, but dark wood would pop in that room.They could mimic the wall paper leaf design even. Skip the curtains start a trend!

oh how i with your furniture was available in Australia! I love your uneven kitchen shelves, totally inspiring me for my kitchen! I think you should try some darker textiles for the dining room curtains, like purple… x :-)
Thanks for sharing your beautiful home. For privacy when curtains are open have you considered a strip if opaque window film across just tge bottom third of your windows? Privacy when seated. Doesn’t block light and you can stand at your windows and look out. Plus easy to take off if you dislike it. A more expensive option could be plantation shutters or perforated screens along bottom third. The latter can make amazing patterns of light on walls.
Given your love of plants, why not consider indoor or outdoor plants with a trellis to cover the windows? (Indoor or outdoor depending on which side of the wall you choose to put them!) They would provide some privacy and let light through and please your green thumb as well. Another alternative would be placing a large indoor plant or small indoor tree in front of the window – maybe on a plant stand, if necessary. That would provide the same shelter.

I second the suggestion about frosted window film. We did that for a dark room that looks directly into the neighbor’s windows and it was perfect. It lets in full light while giving privacy. We also hung a mirror on the wall opposite the window to reflect the light around the room. Super easy and the room is so much brighter and enjoyable!
