I attribute much of my world view, my aesthetic, my ethos, and my success to all the traveling I’ve done throughout my life. My parents and grandparents valued travel and made every effort to make sure that my siblings and I got to see the world. After trips to five continents, the world became simultaneously vast and so close. Things that seemed ‘foreign’ became familiar. I saw things differently, I felt I understood things differently. I learned new languages, met so many incredible people, and pushed myself outside of my comfort zone.
After college I packed up my luggage and moved to Italy and stayed for seven years.
From Italy I was on a plane, train, boat or bus every weekend. My love for travel and exploration only grew and along the way I gleaned so many ideas for this travel collection that I had no idea would come into being fifteen years later.
And now it’s here! Our first travel collection has launched and it’s available exclusively at Target.
Designing this collection was really, really fun because I had so much creative freedom.
Each piece comes directly out of a personal experience of mine. Take this drawstring backpack. This bag was inspired by a bag that I would always get when I was in Bern, Switzerland (where I did a year abroad in high school). There was a boutique that I was obsessed with, and if you spent 100 Swiss Francs in the shop, they would give customers a similar bag. I held on to mine for years (case in point: I still have mine 20+ years later) because it was SO convenient for beach and pool days to hold wet stuff, or as an extra little bag for impromptu flea market or farmers market purchases. For our bag design, we added a front pocket and made it so that the whole back pack squishes into itself, making it the perfect piece to have in your purse at all times in case you need an extra pack.
Since I travel frequently for work these days, one thing that I noticed was that my jewelry often gets tangled up because I was keeping my necklaces and earrings in my makeup bag. I ruined several of my favorite pairs of earrings this way. So for this collection, we included a jewelry organizer to keep all those precious pieces protected.
Speaking of protected…all of the motifs that we used for this collection are all meant to symbolize protection. We included our Hamsa print. The Hamsa is believed to protect and ward off the evil eye. Our sun symbol, Ayo, is meant to bring joy, the Tigress, also a symbol of fierce protection, and our Aja botanical print which celebrates all that plants do for us. Even the tassels that come with several of the pieces are meant to confuse and ward off any bad vibes that may be coming your way.
Together, it is my hope that all of these elements bring y’all some seriously good vibes while you’re on your next big adventure.
Our raffia hip pack was designed with the beach and pool in mind (although I’d rock it anywhere). I always find myself needing a place to put my phone and a credit card when I’m running around in the summer months, but I also want to be hands free, without schlepping around a purse. Added bonus? It fits me in a nice, slouchy way — which often times hip bags are just a little too tight around my waist and so I have to wear it all high and I’m not super into that look.
The backpack may be my favorite piece in the collection. It has a protective pocket inside for a laptop, which is a life-saver for me because when I’m traveling my shoulders get so sore from carrying my heavy laptop in my purse. The backpack distributes the weight really evenly. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it since I’ve been using it instead of a purse for the past couple of weeks. I’ve also seen on social that a lot of teachers are using it for their ‘teacher’s bag’, and that makes me very, very happy.
The hardcase suitcases are also so much fun. I love the colors. They are so practical and easy to navigate around with. The four wheels are a game changer. Also, the wheels are matte gold. Fancy, hehe. They are lightweight and can really hold a lot of gear. My friends over at Target have let us know that the suitcases are selling out fast, so if you’re thinking of nabbing one, you may not wanna wait too long.
The collection is available in most Target stores as well as at Target.com!
Honestly, I could go on about every piece because I’m pretty obsessed with the collection, but I think you should just go and see it for yourself.
Happy packing friends!

This would be so awesome if only you made international-sized carry-ons! The 20″ carry-on (22.5 inches (H) x 9.2 inches (W) x 14.5 inches (D) according to the Target website) is too big for most international travel.
Justina Blakeney says
Such a bummer! The weekender will have to do for a carry-on for an international flight :( — but great to know if we do another collection. Thanks for stopping by :)

I bought a few pieces from this collection and love them! The only problem is that the the magnetic clip to the front pouch of the backpack fell of :’( It’s fallen twice but the first time I was lucky to find it. I’ve tried buying the bag again to replace the clip but they’re no longer available at target. Is it possible to buy a replacement clip? This collection is beautiful!

Hello :)
Can you please tell us if this is going to be available in Australian Target stores (yes or no and if yes, when)??
I’d love to buy some of this gear for birthday gifts.
If it’ll be available down the track, I’ll plan it ahead of time.
Thanks, Rusty x
Justina Blakeney says
Hey Rusty, unfortunately, the U.S. Target and the AU Target are two separate companies and the collection will not be in AU. :( hopefully we’ll get more international products soon. Thanks for stopping by!
Rusty says
Yeah, I thought that’d be the case. Target here in Oz is waaay ‘less-than’ it is in the USA. It’s actually struggling to compete with Kmart!
You’d think they’d follow the more successful USA model. Such great products at a price point for everyday people.
Please keep us Aussies in mind as you continue to grow your business and product range, Justina! x

when i click on the links (was excited by the jewelry organizer) it says the page doesn’t exist. :( it comes up in search but if I click through that way the same thing happens…
Justina Blakeney says
Thanks for letting me know! I’ll check the links now and update :)

How to I receive this product in exchange for my personal review?
Justina Blakeney says
Hey! I’m not sure honestly. I’m pretty sure it’s something on the Target side?
Thanks for your interest!
Sara says
Hi there! Is an umbrella part of this collection? I can see it on the product picture but I wasn’t sure where it was on the Target website. Thanks!
Justina Blakeney says
Hi Sara, unfortunately, the umbrella did not make it into the final assortment and so it’s not part of this collection. (insert cry face emoji here). xx ~Justina

The dimensions for the 28″ Hardside Suitcase on the Target website are 30.5″ (H) x 20.5″ (W) x 12″ (D) which equals 63″ total. For United Airlines the maximum exterior dimension is 62″. Is the Target website information incorrect? I really like your suitcase but am worried it is too large for checked airline baggage. Thanks!
Justina Blakeney says
Hi Jennifer! The dimensions on the website appear to be accurate. I believe it is up to the consumer to ensure that they are complying with their preferred airline on baggage restrictions. Thanks for double checking! Warm regards,
Justina
Lauren says
It wasn’t until I got home I saw that the suitcase is 1 inch over the limit for just about every airline. It was such a shame to return the luggage :(
Justina Blakeney says
I’ve travelled a bunch with the luggage and haven’t had any issue! But sorry to hear that you’re having problems. xx ~J
Gaby says
Hi Justina. I’m dying to buy the green large and small suitcase. Any chance they will be available to buy online with Amazon at some point? They are sold out on Target (and their shipping expenses are ludicrous). I need them to either be shipped to Mexico or the UK. I live between the two countries. Please let me know. I’m absolutely in love with them.
Many thanks,
Gaby.
Chantel Giblette says
Same question! Super bummed I missed out on those!
Justina Blakeney says
Hi Gaby, this program is exclusive to Target and it was just a capsule collection so I’m afraid once it’s all sold it it’s gone forever :(
Christen Christian says
I am desperately trying to find the duffel. Went to several different stores today but no one had it. Can you tell me where it is still carried?
Justina Blakeney says
Hi Christen, I’m afraid the duffel has sold out! It’s possible some stores still have it, but you’d have to get in touch with Target to see if they can help you locate one. We don’t have access to that info. Sorry and best of luck with your search!

Kayla says
Can you tell me the best way to clean the weekender bag?
Justina Blakeney says
Hi Kayla! The best way to clean is to spot clean with mild soap and water! Thanks!

I like to drive, I’ve found it useful to learn how to pay tolls quickly and easily across the country. The I-495 Express Lanes are the greatest option in this circumstance. as an illustration of how the Uproad application might work. I personally use it, and many other drivers use as well. So far, there haven’t been any complaints about him. For example, it frequently comes in quite handy for truck drivers who travel a lot.

Cool post. You inspired me to choose a new country for my next vacation. I came across a cheap business flight ticket to Liechtenstein and thought about this country. Of course, I prefer exotic countries, but the cheap price for a comfortable flight attracts me.

Hi, Journeys through historical landmarks provide a tangible connection to the past, allowing travelers to witness the footsteps of those who came before. Whether standing before the grandeur of ancient ruins or walking the cobbled streets of medieval towns, travel becomes a temporal bridge, linking the present to the echoes of history. The tales told by monuments and artifacts offer a profound sense of continuity, reminding us that we are part of a broader human narrative.Fore more visitTravel Agent Rockford IL

Yet, amidst the excitement and wonder of travel, there is also a profound sense of humility that comes from encountering the vastness and complexity of the world. Standing beneath the towering peaks of the Himalayas or gazing out over the endless expanse of the Sahara, one can’t help but feel small in comparison to the grandeur of nature. It’s a humbling reminder that, no matter how far we roam, there will always be more to discover, more to learn, and more to appreciate in this wondrous world we call home.stithians cornwall

Hi,
Travel also offers moments of introspection and personal growth. Stepping away from the routine and immersing oneself in new environments allows for reflection and self-discovery. The solitude found in nature, the quiet moments in unfamiliar cities, or the contemplative hours during long journeys can lead to profound insights. Travel provides the space to reconnect with oneself, set new goals, and gain clarity on life’s priorities. It’s an opportunity to break free from the daily grind, recharge, and return with a fresh perspective and renewed energy.bhagoria festival

Travel also has the power to challenge and broaden one’s perspective. Encountering different cultures, languages, and traditions can be eye-opening, providing insights into how people around the world live, think, and interact with their environments. This exposure to diversity can lead to a deeper understanding of the complexities of the human experience, fostering empathy and tolerance. Traveling to places with different customs and practices can also challenge preconceived notions and stereotypes, encouraging travelers to question their own beliefs and assumptions.
