India has been such an inspiration to me for my whole life, and I’d never had an opportunity to visit, so once we began producing some items for Jungalow in Jaipur last year I made a promise to myself that I would make a trip.
Indian food has been Ida’s favorite cuisine since she was teeny tiny. It has always surprised us since the cuisine can be quite spicy but she’s always loved it, so Jason and I figured we had to bring her along as well. And once my parents and my mother-in-law, Mary got wind of our trip, they decided to join as well, making it a big ol’ party in Rajasthan, in the Northwestern region of Inida.
While much of the trip has been about visiting the factories and doing research and development for our collections and buying for the shop, we have also fit in sight-seeing and soaking up so much color, pattern, art and architecture — Rajasthan is an absolutely incredible place, chalk full of inspiration. The above photos are from Jaipur (The Pink City), Jodhpur (The Blue City) and Ranthambore — three different cities in Rajasthan.
I’m heading back to the factory in a few minutes, but I just wanted to pop in and share some of this goodness. It’s so wonderful to be far away from home, exploring pockets of the world I’ve never seen with people I love.
More soon, hope you all are well
