Patience is not my strong suit. I have no idea how some parents *choose* to wait until the baby is born to find out the child’s sex. The truth is, I was counting down the days to find out if we were having a little boy or a little girl (not that I wouldn’t have been elated at either outcome–I just wanted to know.) There are so many unknowns in my life right now in this time of great transition–that what I can discover I want to discover–like, now.
When we had the sonogram yesterday, our sonographer, Shelly said ‘you see those two things right here?’–and she pointed to the groin region of our little one–I swore she was going to say ‘those are his balls!’ but alas, they were not balls at all. :P We’re having a little girl…and we just can’t stop smiling about it.

such precious news! While I was getting my haircut yesterday my hairdresser talked about the name Evelina or Emelina and we gushed about how cute they were. I met a little kid named Pearl recently and I was shocked that this 3rd grader had such a proper little old lady name, haha, but it was so cute too. I always think about nicknames to wonder what people would call the kid most of their lives.
I grew up with most people calling me ‘Tina’–still, that’s what close friends and family call me. This whole ‘Justina’ thing is pretty recent. It always felt so formal to me! I love your name, Mari!
Personally I like Matilde and Marina… and so many other names. My only suggestion is to make sure the name sounds nice with the surname… I also find that short names (Sarah, Lisa…) go very well with long surenames and vice-versa.
My name and (real) surename are so long I always have problems when I need to fill in a form.
I’m totally chuckling over here about the “balls” part. But omg omg! A girl>!! She’s gonna be fieeeeeerce. Congrats you two! <3

Congrats again! Everyone I know, including myself, have been having boys so it’s nice there is a little girl coming into the world. And believe me if those were his balls, you would KNOW they were his balls.
hahahaaaa! Ya, our sonographer was like “labia!” and Jason and I looked at each other smiling because with both thought she was gonna say’balls!’ it was such a memorable moment… congrats on your boys!!
