Last week I reached over 1,000,000 followers on Pinterest. I sort of can’t believe it–and I half way expect that it’s some kind of computer glitch. I never would have anticipated that so many people would be inspired by so many of the same things that inspire me–especially since I’ve always considered myself to have pretty outlandish taste.
I am humbled and honored to have reached such a crazy large number of followers and given how much time I spend on the platform digging for the raddest of the rad, I though it would be fun (and informative) to start a new column called “The Pinterest Awards.” Every week (or so) I’ll highlight the pins that I found to be the most inspiring and the most controversial, the Pinner that I think deserves a follow, and the comments that made me laugh out loud that week.
I hope you enjoy this new column! I’ll probably switch it up now and again and ‘give out’ awards in different categories–and I’d love to hear what you think–are there any categories you’d like to see awards ‘given out’ in? Like ‘best room’ ‘best recipe’ or ‘best outfit’? I’m super open! Happy pinning, homies!

@Nicole Valentine Don — I have no clue what was so controversial about that pin! I think those sandals are so rad. Everyone seemed to think the feet/legs were ashy, gross and eeeeeeeew–I don’t get it!!! I think it’s just a vintage photo and so the colors are faded….it’s very odd!
