Hello dear friends. I’m still here! No ‘real’ contractions yet, no Boomba it the outside world yet. This is bananas! I’m being patient (or at least trying to be). This week Jason and I have been taking lots of walks–we went to the beach, to Griffith Park, I had ice teas (and ice cream!) in about 14 different cafes, answered about 45 phone calls and texts with questions about if I was in labor, predictions about when I will go into labor and advice about how to help the process along. Meanwhile, Jason and I just tried to keep our eyes on the prize and continue to prep for when she does decide to arrive–using this extra time to make sure we have ALL our ducks a row.
I will admit, this is not easy.
The good news is, my instagram feed has benefited greatly from these daily adventures–as I snap pics to keep my mind off of this a.n.t.i.c.i.p.a.t.i.o.n.
If she’s not here by Monday our OB will induce, so even though induction is not ideal to me, there is some comfort in knowing that by Tuesday or Wednesday, we will get to meet our little bean, kiss her little face and tickle her little toes. So, this is our last weekend before *really* becoming parents. We’re excited.
xx

wish you the best really! but no need of induction…if you know a doula nearby to talk about how you are feeling, anxieties, fears, whatever it will help you and your beautiful baby to find the perfect timing…i mean it, ´cause induction is not the best way out and most of the times ends up in ceasarean intervention…sometimes it’s all about talking out feelings with the right person…ando doulas are just prepared for this…wish you the best again, light and love for both of your roads in this transition! paz! desde Argentina

Good luck (from Northern Ireland)! I was induced at 10 days overdue & even then my boy arrived on the 11th day, he just didn’t want to budge…! Again, good luck & enjoy the ride ;)

Hi Justina hang in there ….being overdue feels like the longest journey ever….especially in the summer ….my big girl ( she is 16 now ) was due on the 19th feb ( with very hot weather and no air conditioning we slept outside in a tent for a week – ridiculous looking back on in considering I had to get up off the mattress on the floor every half an hour to go to the loo ) she came on the 29th ( yes leap year baby….meant to be !) quite happy and chubby ….my super best wishes …..my only advice…..try to relax !!!!….xxx Danielle

Good luck over the coming days, hopefully she will come of her own accord and you wont need to be induced. Again, echoing the previous comment, try to stay relaxed, really relaxed, and your body will do the rest. Love and warm wishes from wintery Ireland ! :)

oh don’t induce! you have every right to just say no! when i hear about someone getting induced only because she is overdue (which is not a medical reason), my only thought is, “how many hours until her c-section.” seriously. baby comes when she comes! you’re in LA, yes? go see this woman. she’s a friend and an amazing healer. she had some woman’s water break on her table the other day from a treatment. http://www.floatchinesemedicalarts.com

Thanks for all of your kind thoughts! Our OB wants to induce, not just because our little B is so late– but because my fluids are looking low–so we just want what’s best for the baby–even though, I recognize, induction is not ideal… thank you all for your well-wishes and positive energies!
